Re: Matt 7 & Jesus -vs-Simon the Pharisee. This was the 1st sermon of yours I’ve ever heard, after all of these years. Ironic, I think 🙂 The idolatry of the Word is a new & uncomfortable topic for me because of my church/college background (they are just pins on the map of my faith journey) I confess that to be on guard against the pride of phariseeism is an old, constant battle for me. To grow more in love with Jesus every day is my ultimate passion–I want my heart to be more like this woman who was a prostitute! You have expressed this ideal in such a way as to make me evaluate this issue differently, thank you. I’m so grateful that Jesus continues to reveal Himself in new ways to me, patiently & graciously teaching me, because He is the Author and Finisher of my faith. May we all grow more in love with Jesus and for the people He gave Himself for!
